    QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

    Ask a Question
    • What is the breakage strength? Can this also be used as horse fencing?

The breakage strength would be at least 200 lbs. You could certainly use it however you like but it is designed for greenhouses.

    • How do you install your Batten Strap? The picture only shows one side of the greenhouse. Where does the strap tie in on the other side of the greenhouse compared to the starting hoop? Do you have any other videos or images that show the Batten Strap installation?

How to Install Batten Strapping on a Hoop House

      • Position the batten strip

        • Lay the wooden batten directly on top of the plastic, centered over the hoop rib.

      • Pull the plastic taut

        • Stretch the plastic down and around the hoop so it’s snug and free of wrinkles.

      • Secure with screws

        • Use self-drilling sheet metal screws to fasten the batten to the rib.

        • Place screws approximately 6 to 8 inches apart for even tension and durability.

      • Work in sections

        • Move along the length of the rib in small sections.

        • Each time: pull the plastic tight, lay down the batten, and screw it in place.

      • Trim excess plastic

        • After securing the full length, trim any extra plastic beyond the batten for a clean finish.

      Tips:

      • Keep battens straight to avoid wrinkling the plastic.

      • Consistent screw spacing helps prevent damage from wind or shifting.

      • A power drill speeds up the process and ensures secure fastening.
