200-Cell Seed Starting Tray

Extra Strength 200 Cell Seedling Trays

Our 200 cell plug trays are exclusively sold by Bootstrap Farmer. 200 cell trays are great for vegetables like lettuce and kale, herbs, flowers and other seedlings that can be transplanted early.

When we started gardening on our farm we used the typical cheap and flimsy plug trays to grow our vegetables. We quickly became frustrated with trays that would crack and buckle under the weight of the moistened soil. We knew we needed something better. So we started producing our very own extra strength seed trays that can hold up during transportation.

With our 200 cell seed trays, you'll no longer have to buy seed cell trays each season. Our plug trays are strong enough to be used for many years of growing.

Features:

  • Designed to fit in Bootstrap Farmer's 1020 trays
  • Backed by 1 Year Warranty to be free of breakage or warping
  • Plug trays can be used for seed germination and plant propagation
  • Seedling trays are made out of extra strength BPA free - food safe plastic
  • Made from 100% recycled plastic
  • Seed plug trays will not warp or break during use
  • Drainage holes large enough to allow roots to grow through, but keeps moistened vermiculite in place

Additional Details:

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • What's the best way to get the seedlings out of the tray and into the ground? Is there a common tool used? I've only ever used trays with much larger cells, so transferring the seedlings was easy with just my fingers.

We personally use a tiny screw driver or widger while gently pulling on the seedling.  Just our method!

  • Are your 1020 EXTRA strength trays made of #5 plastic or #6 plastic?

Our 1020 extra strength trays are made of #5 PP and are food safe and BPA free!

  • I need bulk peat plugs to fill trays as well

    Hi Glen,

We haven't used peat plugs ourselves so I am not exactly sure which brand(s) would fit our trays.  I'd reccommend maybe just purchasing a single tray and then experimenting a bit before buying more to see what best suites your needs. :)

  • What is the actual drain hole size and shape? Can I use a dibble board to pop the plugs loose for transplanting?

The drain hole size is 1/4".  We are working on our own plug popper to work with these but that is yet to come.
